Lithium Batteries
Lithium Batteries or LiFePO4 or LFP are all the same chemistry which is a classification of battery. Other types of classification are Ni-Cad, NiMH or Lead Acid (otherwise known as PB the chemical name for Lead). Gel, MF, Calcium, AGM are all Lead and Acid so that's just one classification but with different designs. Which is similar to LFP or LiFePO4, the same, but different design, maybe from a different lab or patented and named to distinguish it also meaning others can't call their product the same name.
Lithium has the highest energy density commercially available and doesn't use heavy metals so the same size lithium battery as an equivalent lead-acid battery will have a greater Ah capacity and cranking capacity and life cycle. Typically Lithium batteries are manufactured to be much smaller because of the cost but still have the same cranking output as required for certain applications that the manufacturer is targeting. Such as 600CA, 800CA, and 1000CA which are typical for use in Automotive applications. It is also relatively easy for a Lithium battery to produce 200-400CA as required in Motorcycles and therefore many brands/manufacturers target smaller engine sized applications.
Technology plays a part in keeping this vulnerable chemistry in check, with onboard battery management systems. Some are active and others passive. There is a large price difference between to two and should always be considered on an application vs. application basis to ensure safety in operation.

The Race series variant allows full discharge of the battery down to its low voltage disconnect. This is ideal for total loss applications where all the power is available. Be sure to size the battery correctly that you have all the power you need prior to you needing to recharge on a Lithium charger or your results on the track or from point to point will include a fair amount of flintstone walking.
Using this with a American V-Twin? This is a great choice for engines with a MAX displacement of 110ci (with compression release) or 95ci (no compression release). This battery will not work for engines larger than these limits. The Pulse IPT is the worlds best lightweight lithium motorcycle battery. With the emergency start capability of the IPT Reset, you will never get stranded by a dead battery again.
- Battery Management System (BMS) - Every battery comes with an integrated BMS which controls the function and behavior of the battery. This means better performance, longer life, and emergency start capability.
- Universal Charger Capability - Most commercially available battery chargers work with the Pulse IPT batteries.
- Advanced Case Design- Lighter and stronger than our previous case, it rejects heat, vibration, gas and oil.
- Advanced Cell Design- We designed the Pulse IPT cells to cope with the demands of motorsports. Every component of our cells were designed and optimized for motorsports, based on a decade of experience building engine start batteries. These are only available from Full Spectrum Power.
- V Direct Multi Terminal - Our solid copper terminals have 4 threaded mount holes. Attach your accessory wires without having to use long screws on one small terminal.
- V Sleeve Silicon Terminal Covers - Color coded for polarity, our silicon terminal covers protect against short circuits. Every Pulse IPT battery comes with our Intelligent Pulse Technology, and the IPT Reset feature. Years in development, every feature of the Pulse IPT series of battery was conceived, designed, and created with one goal in mind: to be the most user friendly, reliable, long lasting, best performing battery ever built.
