Solar Batteries
Solar Batteries are used to provide power after daylight has faded so they are cyclic batteries otherwise known as deep cycle batteries. Ironically to get the best cycle life you don't actually deep cycle them. Typically solar batteries that are designed for 15 years wouldn't be used or designed to discharge below the top 20% of all its available power. So a 600Ah battery would only discharge 120A before being recharged. This helps these batteries last 10 plus years or 3650 cycles.
Ah ratings - for Solar you can commonly refer to batteries by their 24 hour rate or 100 hour rate. You'd understand that by using the 24 hour rate you can estimate a predictable amount of power required per day so you can plan its discharge and recharge schedule evenly over 7 days of the week. You could also factor in rainy days or seasonal adjustments which is why the 100 hour or 3+ day average calculations should also be considered. It might also help account for weekend use of off-grid cabins, storms, weather patterns or discharge use by the occupants.
